The question

Is it a condition for wiping over the khuffayn (leather socks/footwear) that they be tightly fitted to the foot? Is it permissible to wipe if the foot moves slightly inside the sock? Is it permissible to wipe if the socks are long and a part of the leg above the ankles is exposed, as long as the foot from the toes to the ankles is covered? Is it a condition to see drops of water on the khuff when wiping?

The answer

It is not a condition for the sock to be tight-fitting on the foot. A slight movement of the foot within it does not prevent wiping over it if it is possible to walk continuously in it. It is a condition that it covers the ankles. It is not required to see water droplets on it when wiping; rather, it is sufficient to pass a wet hand over it, because wiping is based on ease.
