The question

What are the barriers that prevent water from reaching the body? And how can one determine whether something has a physical mass or not, considering the viscosity of soap remaining on the body after bathing or ablution? And what must one do if they later discover that soap might have prevented water from reaching the parts of the body required for ablution in previous prayers?

The answer

Soap is not a barrier that prevents water from reaching the body unless it has a physical mass that obstructs water from reaching the skin, and this is easy to ascertain.

If the soap is removed during (ritual bath), then the ghusl is valid and the slipperiness has no effect. Wudu (ablution) is likewise valid.
