The answer

There is no doubt about the permissibility of reciting during prayer and outside of it using any recitation that has been transmitted recurrently (mutawatir) from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Among these, ten recitations have become well-known, attributed to their respective imams. The most widespread narrations currently are the narration of Hafs from Asim, and the narrations of Warsh and Qalun from Nafi'.
