It is not a condition for the one praying behind an Imam to know the that the Imam is reciting in prayer, whether it is a silent or an audible prayer. Nevertheless, a Muslim should diligently study the Noble Qur’an and not be ignorant of its surahs, lest he be among those who abandon it, for Allah the Almighty says: "And the Messenger will say, 'O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned.'"
