The answer

It is permissible to recite the Quran in any posture, whether a Muslim is standing, sitting, lying down, or walking. Allah has praised those who remember Him in all states, saying: "Those who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides." Al-Tabari, quoting Ibn Jurayj, explained that this includes remembering Allah and reciting the Quran both during prayer and outside of it.
