The question

Is it permissible for someone who recites Surat Ar-Rahman or other surahs in prayer to say "Bismillah" at the beginning of its recitation, then stop at a verse like "Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?" and bow and prostrate, then in the next rak'ah begin with "Bismillah" and continue from where they left off in the first rak'ah? And is it permissible to say "Bismillah" in both rak'ahs?

The answer

It is prescribed to recite the Basmala at the beginning of any during prayer, except for Surah At-. One has the choice to recite it or omit it if they have completed the recitation in the second rak'ah or have started from the middle of a surah.
