The answer

The Hanbalis, Shafi'is, and Ibn Hazm are of the opinion that it is desirable to observe a slight pause before bowing (rukūʿ), basing their view on the of Samurah: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to have two pauses: a pause when he began the prayer, and a pause when he finished the second before bowing." Some imams also pause during the Fajr prayer in the last rak'ah for the silent supplication of Qunūt.
