The answer

The best deeds are to observe the obligatory duties. Among the best deeds after faith are: prayer performed on time, Jihad, Hajj, and honoring one's parents. Supererogatory acts whose benefit extends to others, such as seeking and imparting knowledge, are better than acts of worship whose benefit is limited to oneself, such as adhkar (remembrances of Allah). Reciting the Quran is better than adhkar.
