What is the ruling on communal takbir before the Eid prayer in the mosque until the Imam arrives?

Reciting the Takbir in unison during Eid is a matter of scholarly disagreement. Some scholars, such as Ibn Uthaymeen and the Permanent Committee, consider it impermissible and an innovation (bid'ah) because it was not transmitted from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, citing the hadith (definition): "Whoever performs a deed that is not in accordance with our matter, it will be rejected." Others consider it permissible.
