Does purity for reading the Qur’an mean the purity of Islam, since reading the Qur’an is not a prayer?

Reading the Quran without touching it does not require purity (tahara), and there is no harm in it for someone who is not in a state of major ritual impurity (junub). As for the junub, it is not permissible for him to read the Quran, nor is it permissible for someone in a state of minor or major ritual impurity (muhdith) to touch the Mushaf (definition). The majority of scholars have stated that the purity stipulated in Surat Al-Waqi'ah refers to purity from ritual impurity.
