Are there eight means of salvation, and what is the ruling on believing in and acting upon that?
Naming some Surahs of the Holy Quran as "Al-Munjiyat" (meaning "The Deliverers" or "The Saviors"), specifically Al-Kahf, As-Sajdah, Yasin, Fussilat, Ad-Dukhan, Al-Waqi'ah, Al-Hashr, and Al-Mulk, has no basis in Islamic law. Designating them with this description or performing acts of worship related to them without proof is considered ignorance and innovation (bid'ah). The entire Quran is a healing and guidance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not specify these particular Surahs for this purpose. Rather, he used to seek refuge with the three Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas), and he affirmed the recitation of Ayatul Kursi before sleep for protection. Anyone who designates these Surahs as "Al-Munjiyat" or compiles them in this specific order hoping for salvation or blessings has erred and deviated from the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and from the order of the Uthmani . Therefore, this practice must be prevented, and printed copies of it should be eliminated.
