The question

Is sending a monthly sum to an orphan through a charitable organization considered sponsorship of an orphan or merely charity, and does that diminish the reward, especially if the organization requires signing a sponsorship form and considers deposits as charity disbursed to orphans whose sponsors are delayed, bearing in mind that the financial value of the sponsorship does not change, and that the orphan has a family raising him?

The answer

Sponsoring an orphan carries immense reward. The most complete form of sponsorship is taking the orphan into one's home to live under the sponsor's care and guardianship. For those who cannot do so, providing money to meet their needs is considered sponsorship. Contributing some money to the care of an orphan is a righteous deed and holds great merit and reward, even if it is not full sponsorship. Therefore, any form of contribution to an orphan's care brings reward, and complete sponsorship is more preferable and superior if it is feasible.
