The answer

Celebrating birthdays is forbidden, and it is not valid to argue for their permissibility by citing those who have issued fatwas allowing them. Disagreement is not a legitimate proof; rather, it is a false pretext. When there is a disagreement, it is obligatory to seek the opinion that is strongest in its evidence, or to follow someone whose knowledge and piety are trusted. A person is not allowed to choose opinions merely based on personal desire.
