Can the father's failure to pay zakat on his money be a reason for the questioner's delayed healing, the non-responsiveness of her prayers, and the descent of affliction upon her? And what is the way to convince him to pay it?

We clarify to the questioner that her patience is stored for her, and that the reward of the patient is without limit, and that a single dip in Paradise makes one forget the hardships of this world.

As for her father, she should advise him and warn him of the punishment for withholding Zakat (definition), explaining that wealth belongs to Allah, and that one who withholds Zakat is either an apostate (major disbelief) or a believer with ناقص الإيمان (deficient faith) who deserves severe warning. The preponderant opinion is the latter. She should alert him that hoarded wealth will be a burden upon him on the Day of Resurrection, and that sins are accounted for only by their perpetrator, although the ill-effect of a sin may reach its perpetrator and others.

As for the delay in the answering of supplication, the questioner has been referred to other fatwas to understand the reasons for this, and the conditions and impediments to the answering of supplication.

The questioner was advised to use some divine and prophetic remedies such as honey, black seed, and drinking Zamzam water with the intention of healing, and also Ruqyah (definition) Shariah (Islamic exorcism/healing).
