Is it permissible to slaughter the Hady (sacrificial animal) during Hajj before the day of Arafat (Yawm Arafah)?

Slaughtering or sacrificing the obligatory hady before the Day of Sacrifice is considered sufficient by some scholars, such as the Shafi'is and in one narration from Ahmad. However, it is not considered sufficient by the Malikis, Hanafis, and Hanbalis. It is preferable to delay the slaughter until the Day of Sacrifice to conform with the and to avoid scholarly disagreement.
