The answer

There is no authentic stating that the Hajj of Arafah that falls on a Friday is equivalent to seventy or seventy-two Hajj pilgrimages. What has been narrated in this regard is false and has no basis. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned ten virtues for the confluence of the day of Arafah and Friday, among them: the convergence of two virtuous days, the presence of an hour for the acceptance of supplications, its coinciding with the standing of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, their agreement in being a day of Eid, its alignment with the day of the completion of the religion, that it is a day of increase in Paradise, and the Lord's drawing near to the people of the standing on the evening of Arafah.
