Is there a supplication or prayer to see what has been lost of money or other things in a dream?

We have previously explained in earlier fatwas the established supplications for someone who has lost something, and the manner of performing the Salat al-Hajah (definition) (Prayer of Need) and Salat al-Istikharah (Prayer of Guidance). It has not been reported that a Muslim experiences something in a dream as a result of supplication or prayer. Dreams and visions do not form the basis for religious or worldly rulings; they may only be used for comfort or reassurance. There are forbidden methods for finding lost items, such as opening the mandal and the actions of diviners, so one must be wary of them.
