If a person fasted on the Day of Arafah for an expiation oath (kaffarat al-) and then broke their fast on Eid and the days of Tashreeq, then it is hoped that fasting two more days will suffice to complete the expiation. This is because the obligation of continuous fasting for the expiation of an oath is an issue on which jurists differ, and many of them do not deem it obligatory. It is important to note that fasting for the expiation of an oath is only permissible for those who are unable to feed, clothe, or free a slave.
