How can the heart be reformed after long years of corruption so that good deeds may bear fruit within it?

The questioner is advised to supplicate frequently and humble themselves before Allah to renew faith in the heart, citing the hadith (definition): "Indeed, faith wears out in the inner self of one of you, just as a garment wears out, so ask Allah Almighty to renew faith in your hearts."
