What is the ruling of the Sharia on a wife who brings hardship upon herself due to excessive acts of obedience such as fasting and praying at night, and what is the ruling of the Sharia on a husband who does not take her to the Sacred Mosque in protest of her actions?

It is not legislated for a person to engage in acts of worship that are difficult for them, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, your Lord has a right over you, and your soul has a right over you, and your family has a right over you, so give every rightful owner his due." And his saying: "Undertake only those deeds that you are able to perform, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, does not grow weary until you grow weary." As for a woman riding alone with a driver, it is forbidden due to the Prophet's prohibition of khalwa (definition) (private seclusion) and his saying: "No man shall be alone with a woman." A woman traveling without a mahram (definition) (unmarriageable kin) is also forbidden. As for a son refusing to take his mother to the Sacred Mosque, if the purpose is to prevent her from going [alone with a non-mahram driver], then it is good. However, if she insists on going with a non-mahram driver, then it is better for the son not to refuse to take her.
