Is the Hadith "May Allah curse whoever likens humans to animals" authentic?

This hadith (definition) has no basis in the books of Sunnah (definition), and it is not permissible to attribute it to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Its meaning can be interpreted in two ways: either it is a prohibition against likening humans to animals absolutely, which is false due to the existence of Quranic examples that draw such comparisons, like His saying, the Most High: (So his similitude is the similitude of a dog) and (like the likeness of a donkey); or it is a prohibition against reviling a Muslim and likening him to an animal in a degrading and harmful manner. This latter meaning is correct and supported by the Sunnah, such as his saying, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: (Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq [disobedience]), and the Salaf forbade this due to the falsehood and harm it entails.
