What is the ruling on supplicating with the following phrases: "O Lord, make it easy for me to abandon masturbation. O Lord, protect my private parts from masturbation. O Lord, save me from masturbation" for someone afflicted with masturbation, and are there specific supplications recommended in this regard?

These are good supplications, and among what should be supplicated for are what the Sunnah (definition) has brought forth concerning asking Allah for guidance, uprightness, and steadfastness in the matter, and asking Allah to make your heart firm upon His religion and to turn your heart towards His obedience. With reliance on Allah, sincere recourse to Him, and sincere striving against the self, you will succeed in abandoning disobedience. This can be aided by frequent fasting, keeping company with the righteous, reducing solitary time, staying away from causes that incite lust, and repelling evil thoughts as soon as they arise.
