Why are the hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim not calibrated against the texts of the Holy Qur’an, and those that contradict them, especially those containing contradictions with Quranic verses, such as the verse of stoning (rajm), suckling the elder, and making the dead hear, removed, particularly since some consider these detrimental to the reputation of Islam and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, following the example of what Imam al-Bukhari himself did in his era?

The aforementioned thinker's ijtihad (definition) (independent reasoning) is not limited to denying some hadiths authentically reported in the Two Sahihs. Rather, he establishes novel concepts and dangerous intellectual aberrations, among them the restriction of the Prophetic Sunnah (definition) to only what clarifies the generalities of the Qur'an, considering that the noble Sunnah is what elaborates on the universals of the Quranic text, and that it has been practically inherited across generations, not through hadith (definition) narrations. This proposition is a new formulation of the false methodology of the Quranists, and it must be clarified that the solution is not in disavowing authentic hadiths, but rather in explaining their wisdom and their conformity to the truth.
