How can the narration of Ibn Omar's healing when he said, "O Muhammad," be reconciled with the prohibition of seeking aid from the Prophet, and is intercession forbidden in itself or to prevent means to evil?

Seeking aid from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is forbidden by Islamic law, based on the hadith (definition): "Aid is not sought from me; rather, aid is sought from Allah," and "If you ask, ask Allah; and if you seek help, seek help from Allah." It was not known for the Tabi'in (successors) to permit it. However, some scholars did permit seeking intercession through him.
