Is it considered an innovation (bid‘ah) to dedicate a specific daily number for sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and for seeking forgiveness, and for saying "lā ilāha illallāh" (there is no god but Allah), and for glorifying Allah (tasbih)? And what is the authenticity of the hadith that encourages sending blessings upon him a thousand times daily?

Adhering to a specific number in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) without proof is an added innovation (bid‘ah idafiyah). However, it has been reported in the Sunnah (definition) to say Tasbih (Subhan Allah), Tahmid (Alhamdulillah), Takbir (Allahu Akbar), and Tahlil (La ilaha illa Allah) a hundred times before sunrise and before sunset, and the virtue of this has been established. Similarly, seeking forgiveness (istighfar) a hundred times a day has been reported in Sahih (definition) Muslim.
