Is it permissible to kiss one's wife on the mouth?

Kissing one's wife is permissible; in fact, it is among the etiquettes of intercourse. It is desirable for a man to playfully engage with his wife before intercourse, so that her desire is aroused and she may attain the pleasure of coition, as reported from Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. A weak hadith (definition) is narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Let none of you fall upon his wife like an animal. There should be a messenger between them." It was asked, "And what is the messenger, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The kiss and words." It is permissible for a man to kiss his wife in any place, including the mouth.
