The answer

A Muslim is not in need of sending his greetings to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with someone else, because the angels convey his greetings to him wherever he is. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “There is no one who greets me but Allah returns my soul to me so that I may return his greeting.” He also said: “Indeed, Allah has angels who travel and convey the greetings of my Ummah to me.” And he also said: “Wherever you are, send blessings upon me, for your blessings reach me.”

Sending greetings through another person is among the newly invented matters in religion, because the Companions and their followers did not do it. If it were good, they would have preceded us to it.
