Is the disagreement of the scholars of the Ummah considered a mercy, and is their agreement something else, and is it more correct to say: "The disagreement in the ijtihaad of the scholars is a mercy"?

This phrase is a Hadith (definition) from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and scholars have discussed its chain of narration. As for its meaning, it refers to adopting the legal opinion (fatwa (definition)) of a specific scholar for a legitimate Shariah-compliant benefit, which achieves ease and expansion for the Ummah. An example of this is adopting the fatwa of Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah regarding the issue of triple divorce pronounced in a single utterance. However, it must be emphasized that this does not mean pursuing the lenient opinions (rukhas) of scholars merely out of whims and desires, as this is prohibited.
