What are the etiquettes of a religious and spiritual gathering?

For gatherings of remembrance (majalis al-dhikr), there are manners that should be observed, including:

Making space for newcomers. That a newcomer should not make anyone stand up from their seat, and if someone gets up for a purpose and then wishes to return to their place, they have more right to it. That a newcomer should sit where the gathering ends for them. Not to separate two people sitting next to each other unless with their permission. Not to sit in the middle of a circle. Observing the manners of conversation, such as listening attentively and choosing good words. Remembering Allah the Almighty and sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, during the gathering. Reciting the expiation for the gathering (kaffarat al-majlis) upon leaving. Paying attention to cleanliness and removing unpleasant odors.
