Among the surahs that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to regularly recite every night were Al-Isra, Surah Az-Zumar, Surah As-Sajdah, and Surah Al-Mulk. Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi narrated from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, "that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would not sleep until he recited: 'Alif, Lam, Mim. The revelation...' (Surah As-Sajdah) and 'Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion...' (Surah Al-Mulk)." And in another : "He would not sleep until he recited Bani Isra'il (Surah Al-Isra) and Az-Zumar."
