What is the explanation of the Hadith: "I used to sleep in front of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with my feet in the direction of his Qibla. When he prostrated, he would nudge me, so I would draw in my feet, and when he stood up, I would stretch them out again. She said: And houses in those days had no lamps"?

The meaning of the Hadith (definition) is that the Mother of the Believers, Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, would extend her legs in front of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was praying at night. When he intended to prostrate, he would gently touch her legs so she would move them for him. And when he stood up, she would extend her legs again. Her statement, "At that time, there were no lamps in the houses," was an apology from her because she necessitated the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to touch her. For if there had been lamps, he would not have needed to do so.
