What is the ruling on dealing with tourism companies that rent hotel rooms during peak seasons, and what is the ruling on commissions and gifts paid to secure reservations under these circumstances?

It is impermissible to take commissions from booking companies or customers without the hotel owner's approval, as this is considered an illicit gift to employees unless authorized by the employer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade this, as stated in the hadith (definition) of Ibn al-Lutbiyyah, who said: "This is for you, and this was gifted to me." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replied to him: "Would he not have sat in his father's house or his mother's house to see if he would be gifted anything or not?"
