What was the manner of supplication during prayer that the Prophet (peace be upon him) followed? Was it after the prayer, between the two prostrations, or while standing?

Supplication (Du'a) during prayer has several positions; the best of them are those that align with the guidance of the Prophet, peace be upon him. For those who find it difficult to memorize the reported supplications, they may supplicate with whatever is easy for them, avoiding affectation and rhymed prose. The positions in which supplication is legislated during prayer are: the opening supplication (Du'a al-Istiftah) after the initial Takbir (Takbirat al-Ihram (definition)), the Qunut supplication in Witr prayer, the Qunut for calamities (Nawazil) after rising from Ruku' (bowing), during Ruku', during Sujud (definition) (prostration) - which is the best position for supplication - between the two prostrations, and after the final Tashahhud (definition) and before the Taslim (definition) (salutation). As for supplication after prayer, raising the hands after the obligatory prayer has not been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace be upon him. What is legislated after the Taslim is the reported remembrances (Adhkar), then sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, and supplicating with whatever one wishes, because the worshipper, after the Taslim, exits the state of intimate communion. However, whoever remembers Allah, praises Him, and sends blessings upon His Messenger, it is recommended for him to supplicate.
