Which is better on Friday: reciting "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" a thousand times, or sending blessings upon the Prophet?

Reciting the Quran is the best remembrance (dhikr) absolutely. However, sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on Friday is better than reciting the Quran on that day. One should not specify a certain number of times for sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or for reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas (definition), because there is no evidence for that. Rather, it is considered an additive innovation (bid‘ah idafiyyah), except for repeating the recitation of Surat Al-Ikhlas without specifying a number.
