The signs of purity are not limited to the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda). There is another sign, which is the dryness of the area, such that the cotton comes out clean of blood. The white fluid that exits after urination is considered wady, which is a thick fluid that comes out after urine. Discharges after urination are considered wady and not a white discharge. To ascertain purity, a woman inserts a piece of cloth into the area; if she sees no blood, then she has become pure.
