Is it permissible to adopt the view of one who excuses a small amount of yellowish discharge, for someone who experiences a small amount of yellowish discharge at the beginning of menstruation, and who is prone to obsessive doubts (waswasah)? And is it valid to adopt this view if a small amount of this yellowish discharge mixes with the water used for istinjā’ (washing after relieving oneself)?

The Gist of the Fatwa (definition):

Yellowish and brownish discharges, and the scholarly opinions regarding them, have been clarified in previous fatwas. A person afflicted with waswas (obsessive doubts) may adopt the more lenient opinion. A small amount of blood is pardoned by the majority of scholars. Water used for istinja (definition)’ (washing after relieving oneself) in the area of purification is not ruled to be impure; if it separates unchanged, it is pure, but if it changes, it must be purified. It is obligatory to strive against waswas. The default is that water does not enter the inner part of the vagina when in doubt, and it suffices to wash what is apparent with a strong presumption of cleanliness, without exaggeration or extremism.
