What is the best procedure in Islam for the removal of a fetus that died after eleven weeks and six days, and what are the legal rulings pertaining to it, such as naming and burial?

First: A trusted doctor must be consulted to determine the necessity of removing the dead fetus. If its retention does not cause harm, do not resort to surgery, as the principle is not to harm the body or use anesthesia unless necessary.

Second: If the fetus is expelled, it should be wrapped and buried. It is not to be washed, prayed over, named, or sacrificed for, because the soul has not been breathed into it, even if its expulsion is delayed beyond four months, as long as its death is confirmed.

Third: The blood discharged with this fetus is postpartum bleeding (nifas (definition)) if it is expelled after eighty days.
