As for what is not obligatory, it is permissible to hire someone else for it if the employer grants permission. However, concerning non-obligatory tasks, if they fall within working hours, there is no compensation; but if they are outside working hours, one has the right to demand customary wages if tradition dictates, or an agreed-upon wage, and one can refuse them or amend the contract.
