What is the ruling on working as an accountant at the French Institute where invoices for artists' accommodation and meals, as well as their wages, are paid, and tuition fees are collected, bearing in mind its various activities such as theater, singing, teaching the French language, and services for students wishing to study in France?

It is not permissible to work as an accountant in an institute that engages in forbidden activities such as plays and musical concerts, because this constitutes aiding in sin. The Sharia (definition) has stipulated the prohibition of aiding in sin, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa (definition) prohibiting working as an accountant for a newspaper that publishes news of actors and singers, due to its involvement in cooperating in sin and aggression.
