Is it permissible for me to sleep during my work as a private security guard in order to do an additional job due to insufficient salary?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The worker must fulfill the conditions of the contract, perform his work with trustworthiness, and advise his employers sincerely regarding their wealth. Sleeping that leads to negligence in work tasks or their disruption contradicts this, unlike sleeping during free time. The job of a security guard specifically contradicts sleeping during working hours. As for the salary not being sufficient for needs, this does not justify betraying the trust. He should look for another job or request a salary increase.
