The answer

It was previously explained that religious knowledge is of two types: obligatory and recommended. A Muslim is only sinful for neglecting to learn the obligatory, whereas for the recommended, he is not sinful for neglecting it, even if he misses out on much good. It is not easy to combine seeking knowledge with extensive interaction with people and preoccupation with work, but a Muslim should not spend all his time on worldly matters at the expense of the Hereafter. Rather, there must be a balance between them. He should seize opportunities to learn, remember Allah, and seek forgiveness, even while working, and be mindful of prayer at its prescribed time.
