If a fasting person is compelled to undertake strenuous work, having intended to fast from the night, and then finds an extraordinary hardship, he should break his fast to avert the necessity, then abstain for the remainder of the day and make up for it later. If he does not experience unusual hardship, he is obligated to complete his fast.
