Is there an expiation for working with a university degree obtained through unlawful money, that would allow a person to work with it without sin, taking into account that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Sin is what wavers in your soul and you dislike for people to know about it," and "Consult your heart, even if people give you a fatwa"?

The permissibility of working with a certificate and the lawfulness of the salary revolve around performing the work excellently, even if the certificate was tainted by deception. The fact that a father spent ill-gotten money on his son's education does not make working with that certificate unlawful for the son. There is no specific expiation for this alleged sin, as the crucial point is the perfection of the work and that its field is permissible. Hadiths like "Consult your heart" are not absolute; the heart referred to is that of a knowledgeable and divinely guided person, not just any heart. Such a hadith (definition) applies specifically to situations where doubts and suspicions conflict. The questioner's feeling of sin does not necessarily mean the matter is forbidden, and he should rely on the fatwas of trusted scholars.
