What is the ruling on working as a training specialist in a remote oil field, where there is no actual work or training, and there are training books containing pictures of women, intermixing, and music that cannot be changed? Is it permissible to receive a salary for this work? Is there any sin in leaving before the end of working hours or arriving after them, given the absence of tasks?
If an employee performs their job duties well and adheres to the terms of the contract, they are entitled to the full salary even if no work is assigned to them, because a private employee is entitled to wages merely by presenting themselves to the employer and not refusing to work. As for distributing curricula that contain forbidden images, this does not affect the essence of the work, but the forbidden images must be blurred out and the evil removed if possible. It is not permissible to leave before the end of working hours or to be late for the beginning of them except with the permission of whoever has the authority to do so, because "Muslims are bound by their stipulations." It is permissible to occupy free time with what is beneficial and useful, and the employee can request a transfer to a more dynamic workplace.
