What is the ruling on working in a hotel that requires handling alcoholic beverages as part of the job, and is the income earned from this work unlawful, given the dire financial need and difficulty in finding another job?

Receiving alcoholic beverages is impermissible, and the wages earned from it are unlawful. If your work is limited to receiving only permissible items, then we hope it is permissible. However, if you personally receive alcoholic beverages or deputize someone else to receive them, then it is not permissible for you to continue in this job. It is better to seek a permissible job free from alcoholic beverages. And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from whence he never expected.
