Purchasing a device to serve Muslims and dedicating it as an endowment (waqf) is considered an ongoing charity ( jariyah). However, contributing to the construction of a mosque is better, as it aids in the performance of prayer. For whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.
