How is partnership money between two sisters purified if dividing the money reduces the minimum amount (nisab) required for zakat?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
is not obligatory on money unless it reaches the (minimum threshold) and a full lunar year (hawl) has passed over it. The nisab is approximately equivalent to 85 grams of pure gold, or 595 grams of pure silver. Partnership does not affect money, except in the case of pasturing livestock. Therefore, partners are not required to combine their wealth; rather, each one pays Zakat on his share if it reaches the nisab. If the share of each of you does not reach the nisab, then Zakat is not obligatory.
