Is zakat obligatory on a plot of land that one intends to sell or keep for the future?

If you acquire a plot of land with the intention of trading it, then you must pay on it as a trade commodity. You assess its value at the end of the hawl (one lunar year) from the time you paid the price you bought it for (if that amount reached the by itself or by combining it with other money or trade commodities), and you pay a quarter of a tenth of its value. However, if the price does not reach the nisab, then the hawl begins from the time of acquisition. But if you bought the land with the intention of owning it, then there is no zakat on it, even if you intend to sell it when needed.
