A wife's salary is her exclusive right, and she may dispose of it as she wishes in lawful ways. She is obligated to pay on it if it reaches the and a full year has passed, whether the salary is in her account or her husband's. She does not need her husband's permission or knowledge for this, as zakat is an obligation upon every Muslim who meets the conditions for its obligation. It is not permissible for the husband to dispose of his wife's money except with her permission.
