Is Zakat obligatory on land immediately after its sale, even if a year has not passed since its acquisition, and it was not previously offered for sale, or there was no intention to sell it prior to the sale?

Zakat (definition) is not obligatory on land unless three conditions are met: it was purchased with the intention of trade, its value reaches the nisab (definition) either by itself or when combined with money or other trade goods, and one hawl (lunar year) has passed on the wealth with which it was purchased. If these conditions are met, zakat becomes due annually; otherwise, there is no zakat on it.
